We maintain a tiny house as temporary lodging for a homeless veteran while we assist with enrollment in direct benefit programs. We provide mentors for veterans who have been remanded to Marion County’s Veterans Court. The Council presides over quarterly memorial services for Marion County veterans who pass and offers flag retirement ceremonies at the Veterans Memorial Park. Monthly Council meetings feature speakers on veterans' benefits, local veteran-owned businesses, and pending state and Federal legislation impacting their family’s lives. The Council also supports and coordinates the “Stuff the Bus” program, providing critical school supplies to thousands of homeless and needy children annually.
